Sectors & Technology areas
The term 'deep tech' is relatively new. It was first coined in 2014 by Swati Chaturvedi to describe the category of startups built on foundational scientific innovations with the potential to disrupt several markets.
Some may define only those companies developing the underlying scientific discovery, or meaningful engineering innovation, as truly being ‘deep tech’. We also recognise those businesses creating innovative market focused solutions, utilising those underlying technologies as deep tech too. Irrespective of your preferred definition, here at DeepTech Commercialisation, we support the whole deep tech community.
Although the term did not even exist at the time, our team has experience in commercialising deep tech going back to the late 1990s. We benefit from direct involvement throughout full life cycles of deep technology, from naissance, through early adoption, peaks of speculative hype, and finally sustainable market adoption.
We are confident that with the breadth and depth of our experience, across diverse technology areas and market sectors, we can apply our expertise to almost any deep tech commercialisation challenge. See below for technology areas and market sectors we have commercialised.
