Commercialisation
Taking deep tech products to market since 1999.
While we can help with sales or business development activity, there is actually so much more to a successful commercial strategy than ‘hitting the sales button’ when a product is ready.
In fact, many aspects of the commercialisation process for a tech startup, particularly deep tech, should start right at the outset of your startup journey.
We can add value to any aspect of your commercial planning and implementation. Some specific examples where we commonly get involved include:
Commercial strategy development
Commercial business modelling
Partnership & sales channel appointments
Commercial and partnership agreements (supported by our legal partner)
Business development
We cannot emphasise enough how important it is for you to start your commercial journey early and to work through a structured process. Starting early, building commercial capabilities, validating your proposed product and commercial offerings, all enables you to both minimise risk of any late stage commercial issues and also maximise the speed of adoption once a product is ready.
Just as you would never release a product without extensive physical testing, you should never release a product without having tested your intended commercial model, and validated acceptability for your target customers.
Forming early relationships with prospective end users is vital for gathering deep insight into their needs from a product functional perspective too.
A comparatively minimal investment in early stage commercial activity provides very significant returns later on!
This is also one element of optimising for Product Market Fit.
“It’s obvious to technical minds that you would never deploy a technical product untested. It is less obvious that the same rigour of testing should be applied to your business commercials too”
